MCSE (or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) courses are designed to help you expand your computer skills and gain more knowledge when it comes to the latest in IT standards and working with the most innovative cloud technology. By taking a course and earning your certification, you will be able to get started with your computer technology career much faster than if you went through a training course that required more qualifications. Earning your certification will open up many more doors and allow you to choose from a variety of career opportunities thanks to the training you receive and skills that you have been able to acquire.

The certification is used by employers to determine an individual?s network IT skills in order to see if they qualify for a particular job and its responsibilities. Passing the MCSE exams and earning your certification in the field of your choice helps to ensure that you will be able to find a lifelong IT-related career that you will be happy with. One example of a job that you would be able to get with an MCSE certification would be a certified systems engineer. These professionals have the ability to install, troubleshoot and configure various types of computer networks that run on Windows servers. Candidates are required to take the six core exams in order to meet all of the requirements necessary to complete their certification. These include four networking system exams, one client operating system exam and one design exam. There are also elective exams that you can choose to take ? one of these is required. The elective MCSE exams test you on your expertise in various subjects such as solution design and implementation. The Microsoft guidelines state that those who are preparing to take the exams should have one year of experience with administering and implementing desktop and network operating systems ? though this experience can also be gained by taking relevant IT courses. These courses can be taken online with a specialist online tuition company.

If you decide to take the new upgrade path that Microsoft has put together, you will need to take two upgrade exams as well as the original six. This will allow you to earn the Windows Server credential after you have already completed your MCSE courses and exams which will save you both time and money in the long run.

There are several learning resources and books out there that have been officially licensed by Microsoft to help you prepare for these exams. You can find out more information on these helpful tools by going online and searching for study guides and other resources that can assist you in preparing for your series of exams. Many websites have free practice test questions for you to complete that focus on a variety of subjects that the MCSE certification covers.

BEIRUT (AP) ? The U.N. said Tuesday that entire families were shot in their homes during a massacre in Syria last week that killed more than 100 people, including children. Most of the victims were shot at close range, the U.N. said.

Rupert Colville, a spokesman for the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, said the conclusions were based on accounts gathered by U.N. monitors and corroborated by other sources. He said U.N. monitors found that fewer than 20 of the 108 people killed in the west-central area of Houla were killed by artillery fire.

"Most of the rest of the victims were summarily executed in two separate incidents," Colville told reporters in Geneva. "At this point it looks like entire families were shot in their houses."

He said witnesses blamed pro-government thugs known as shabiha for the attacks, noting that they sometimes operate "in concert" with government forces.

The killings in a collection of villages called Houla near the central Syrian city of Homs last week have drawn fresh attention to the Syrian conflict, in part because of the brutality of the massacre. Activists posted amateur videos online showing shells exploding in the village, dismembered bodies lying in the streets, then rows of dozens of dead laid out before being buried in a mass grave.

The U.N. has said government forces fired tank shells and artillery at Houla, but stopped short of blaming them for Friday's killings. Activists said most of the victims were killed by pro-government thugs who stormed the area after clashes with local rebels, but the regime categorically denied any involvement.

The United Nations said previously that 108 people were killed in the massacre, including 49 children and 34 women; some had bullet holes through their heads.

International envoy Kofi Annan met with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus on Tuesday, Syria's state new agency reported without giving further details.

Completing Our Energy Efficient Light Bulb Mission

We?ve been using CFL light bulbs in our home for at least five years. As a way to conserve energy and save money, it just made sense. CFL bulbs last 7-9 years (we haven?t had one go out yet) so they are worth the initial investment. With so many rooms to buy light bulbs for, we?ve stalled on replacing them all. Some rooms still had traces of incandescent light bulbs and it was time to fix that.

Um yea. Like yesterday.

We also had two types of CFL bulbs throughout the house; soft white and daylight. I?ve grown to love my daylight bulbs especially for indoor photography. Everything appears bright and true to color and that makes me happy. So after making sure every lamp and fixture contained a CFL bulb, I planned to get rid of those soft white bulbs that gave off that ?You?re indoors? feeling.

GE invited me to go shopping for enough Energy Smart bulbs needed for my home, so this was my chance to finish the ongoing project of replacing light bulbs. I made a list of rooms in need of new light bulbs and I head to Walmart for some shopping.

I started grabbing bulbs not even looking at the brand. For a moment I forgot that I was shopping for GE bulbs, but realized I was on the right track ? the entire aisle was nothing but GE bulbs. It was hard to grab any other brand since GE dominated the aisle and they were the cheaper. One thing that I noticed were the little tags on the shelf from Energizing Indiana. They work with local retailers to provide instant discounts on commonly used residential lighting products. So I received a discount on my bulbs which was a nice touch.

I quickly grabbed what I needed. I cleared out all of the 100w daylight bulbs. I still needed 3 more packs, but I opted for 75w instead. I could use the 75w in areas where I didn?t need them to be super duper bright.

When I returned home, it was time to go to work on our lamps and light fixtures. It felt so good to finally tackle this project. Now all of our lighting is consistent and we?ll be saving even more money on our energy bill? and trust, Greg will be monitoring the energy consumption, lol. I?ll report back later next month with any findings. I have spent many enjoyable hours creating podcasts on TalkShoe Radio. I am fully convinced that using TalkShoe is probably one of the best moves that I personally have ever made, in terms of promoting businesses successfully on Google.

To learn more about podcast, I guess that we should dig a little deeper into a good definition. A podcast is a type of digital media consisting of an episodic series of audio files subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device. The word is a neologism derived from ??¢??broadcast??¢?? and ??¢??pod??¢?? from the success of the iPod, as podcasts are often listened to on portable media players.

A list of all the audio or video files currently associated with a given series is maintained centrally on the distributor??¢??s server as a web feed, and the listener or viewer employs special client application software, known as a podcatcher, that can access this web feed, check it for updates, and download any new files in the series. This process can be automated so that new files are downloaded automatically. Files are stored locally on the users computer or other device ready for offline use, giving simple and convenient access to episodic content. In this way it is contrasted to webcasting.

As discussed by Richard Berry, podcasting is both a converged medium bringing together audio, the web and portable media player, and a disruptive technology that has caused some in the radio business to reconsider some established practices and preconceptions about audiences, consumption, production and distribution. Racy Zuma painting vandalised in S. Africa gallery

Two men on Tuesday vandalised a portrait of President Jacob Zuma posing as Lenin with his genitals exposed in a Johannesburg gallery, as a court battle over the painting got under way.

The face, stomach and genitalia of the painting was smeared with black paint which was also splattered on the while marble floor of the gallery.

A red X was painted over Zuma's face and genitalia before black paint was smeared across the image, according to images shown on the local eNews television station which captured the two men defacing the painting.

The vandalism occurred as about 400 supporters of the ruling African National Congress sang and danced in downtown Johannesburg in support of Zuma during a court hearing on the party's request to force the gallery to remove the painting.

Although the gallery had stepped up security, deploying armed private guards, with a notice warning that visitors would be subject to security searches, witnesses said the two men managed to sneak into the gallery with small tins of paint.

"The white middle-aged man was the one who started it off and a young black man finished it off," Lance Claasen, a Khaya FM radio reporter who witnessed the defacing, told AFP.

The gallery was closed shortly after the attack as a curious crowd gathered outside. Two police vans were parked outside the gallery in Johannesburg's upmarket Parkwood neighbourhood.

Gallery spokeswoman Lara Kossef said "there was a lot of shouting and screaming and a bit of physical jostling" during the attack. The gallery is yet to decide on its next action.

Sipho Sithole, a supporter of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) who was outside the gallery, supported the vandalism.

"It's sad I wasn't here (during the attack) because I would have bought more paint, we would have painted the whole building black," he told AFP.

On the other side of the city, ANC supporters sang and danced demanding the painting be removed while the High Court heard an urgent application against its exhibition.

The case was postponed to Thursday, when a full bench of judges will decide if the artist's right to freedom of expression trumps Zuma's privacy.

Dressed in the party's green, black and gold, men and women sang anti-apartheid anthems in Zulu and brandished placards in front of an ANC truck and large television screen.

A few youths briefly held up a poster showing a naked picture of the opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Helen Zille, who is white.

The roads around the court were closed and riot police guarded the entrance to the domed building. No violence was reported.

Julia Muludzi, 65, carrying a poster reading "Hands Off Our President. We Are Hurt," said the painting was disrespectful.

"They are trying to sabotage our government because they want to go back to apartheid. It's racism," she told AFP while swaying to the songs in her ANC wrap-around.

Another said the depiction violated African culture.

"Our culture is very much against that. You can never refer to someone's private parts," said Elizabeth Mabaso, 58.

"If our president was a white person they wouldn't do that."

The polygamous president generated national debate when he married for a sixth time last month and has four current wives. He has 21 children, including several out of wedlock.

A few veterans of the ANC's military wing also protested outside the court.

"He can marry as many women has he wishes," said Sidwell Modisane, a 42-year-old vet dressed in military fatigues.

(Reuters) - The big winner of this year's upfront TV advertising sales season was an old favorite: the sitcom.

By the time the curtain came down on the network previews on Thursday, 16 of the 36 new scripted shows added to the programming lineups of the big four broadcast networks - CBS Corp, Walt Disney Co's ABC, News Corp's Fox and Comcast Corp's NBC - were comedies.

Upfront week is the television industry's annual rite at which networks preview upcoming shows for advertisers and media buyers in hopes of persuading them to buy commercial time in advance.

Broadcast networks invested heavily in original scripted programming, as opposed to reality shows. Much of the investment went toward the venerable situation comedy as networks sought to justify the hefty fees they charge advertisers in a world where viewers' time is increasingly fragmented by online video and social media. The big four networks plus Univision and CW are expected to collect about $9.2 billion from this year's upfronts, an increase of 3 percent over last year.

The heavy bet on original scripted shows also has residual benefits thanks to insurgent companies like Netflix Inc, which have shown an appetite not only to compete, but to pay top dollar for the syndication rights to such programming.

"We're seeing a lot of comedy added and a lot less new reality shows," said Needham analyst Laura Martin. "This is good for the TV ecosystem because TV has to have good syndication windows to sell on shows to other networks. Reality has no library value," she said, referring to the reluctance of broadcasters to pay big bucks for reality shows that are several years old.

In an effort to shake off their ratings cobwebs, ABC and NBC, which have long ranked third and fourth in the ratings, respectively, made the most significant revamps to their schedules.

ABC is adding 10 new shows to its schedule including six dramas and four comedies. Two of the network's new dramas, "666 Park Avenue" and "The Last Resort," received positive buzz from media buyers who attended ABC's upfront presentation.

NBC - which most needs a hit - unsurprisingly added 16 new shows to its lineup, the largest number of any network. Among the highlights was "Animal Practice," a sitcom set in a veterinary clinic. NBC sought to generate buzz for the show by bringing one of the stars - a monkey named Crystal - to its upfront presentation Monday.

Indeed, NBC is making the biggest bet of any network on comedies, scheduling sitcoms on four out of five week nights next season.

Media buyers also had high hopes for J.J. Abrams' science-fiction drama "Revolution," though the networks have tried and failed over the last few years to replicate the magic of "Lost," the other Abrams-produced show that launched TV's science-fiction fascination.

BRITNEY, BACON, QUAID

In contrast to NBC, CBS Corp's eponymous network, the top-rated network in terms of total viewers, has the strongest returning lineup and is therefore least in need of new shows. It added only four - three dramas and one comedy - to its schedule for the new season, the fewest new shows of any network.

The best-received of its shows were "Vegas," a new period drama starring Dennis Quaid in 1960s-era Las Vegas, and "Partners," its lone new sitcom from the original creators of hit comedy "Will & Grace" which also has a similar straight/gay buddy relationship as its theme.

Already featuring a strong comedy lineup with "Two and a Half Men," "Big Bang Theory" and "Mike and Molly," CBS boss Les Moonves decided against adding more comedies to his schedule despite the fact that they can help bring younger viewers to the network. CBS' audience is the oldest on TV, with an average age of more than 55 years old.

"We looked at going to eight comedies but felt we already had a great schedule," Moonves said.

Bernstein analyst Todd Juenger said CBS' incumbency advantage is starker than ever.

"For CBS, there was no need to take notes; we can name all four new shows and their time slots from memory," said Juenger.

"Imagine how much easier it is for CBS to drive awareness and interest in four new shows, compared to the other networks trying to launch six or 10 - or even 14 new shows."

For its part, Fox, which trails CBS in overall viewership, added three sitcoms and two dramas.

But the biggest news from Fox did not involve new shows, but a new judge. "X-Factor" producer Simon Cowell appeared on stage Tuesday to announce that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, who appeared alongside Cowell, had signed on as judges for next season after weeks of speculation in the news media.

Fox also drew applause from advertisers for luring veteran Hollywood star Kevin Bacon to TV for the first time ever for its new serial-killer drama "The Following."

"Our audience has consistently asked, 'Where's the next "24"'? I think we found it," said Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly.

The addition of movie stars like Bacon, Quaid, and Lucy Liu, who will star in a new CBS show called "Elementary," is viewed as significant for the broadcast networks since the perception is that they have been losing buzz and mind share to much smaller networks like AMC, home to award-winning shows such as "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad."

And then there are insurgent newcomers like Hulu, Google Inc's YouTube and Yahoo Inc, which are luring stars like Tom Hanks and Katie Couric to digital video by investing heavily in original content creation.

"This isn't new to this year, the networks understand that there's all this development on the other side," said Mediacom Chicago managing director Matt Schwach.

LOSERS

With so many holes to fill, NBC and ABC inevitably had some losers at this week's upfronts, with many of their new shows and schedule changes falling flat with critics and other media-watchers.

Horizon Media analyst Brad Adgate said NBC's move to extend its hit talent show "The Voice" by an hour on Tuesday nights might be 60 minutes too much for audiences to bear.

"I think they're going to kill 'The Voice' with over-exposure," said Adgate.

Adgate also was not a fan of ABC's new sitcom "The Neighbors," about an alien family living among humans, which the network plans to air after its hit "Modern Family" on Wednesday nights.

But from the TV industry's point of view one person was a bigger loser than any show previewed during the upfronts: Charlie Ergen, chairman of DISH Network Corp. Network executives are hopping mad over Ergen's launch of a DVR called the "Hopper" which allows viewers to completely skip over commercials rather than fast-forward through them.

The industry was collectively appalled that Ergen would attempt to undermine their key source of revenue - advertising.

"I do find it surprising that they're going to do that to their largest content provider. I mean, more broadcast is watched on their service than anywhere else, and this is how the shows are paid for," said Peter Rice, chairman of Fox Entertainment.

CBS' Moonves was even more emphatic. "It's preposterous, they can't do this," he said. "How does Charlie (Ergen) expect us to pay for the programming?"

The Building of a House and a Family: Tutu Party - Decor

I did some fairly easy diy decorating most of it just required time.

I did the High chair skirt and table skirt the same. It is similar to a no sew tutu which I also did.

Needed:
Ribbon
Tulle - colors of choice

1. I cut strips of tulle double the length I wanted it.

2. You fold the strips in half.

3. put the tulle around the ribbon and pull the ends through.

4. Continue until finished.

I tied the ribbon around the high chair and table. I also hot glued it in a few spots to ensure that it did not move.

Tutu Wands

Needed
Tulle
Ribbon
sticks - I used cake pop sticks

Cut tulle, I cut mine about 6 inches long. I used a total of 16-20 pieces. Put 4 pieces of tulle together you can do all the same color different colors. and tie a thin ribbon in the middle. Continue this 4 times if you use 16 or 5 if you use 20. Then tie all of the pieces of tulle together. Once tied together spread tulle pieces apart. I hot glued the balls to a stick and decorated the stick with ribbon.

Hanging Pom-Poms
1. Stack eight (I did 12, 8 was not thick enough) 20-by-30-inch sheets of tissue. Make 1 1/2-inchwide accordion folds, creasing with each fold.

2. Fold an 18-inch (I did not find it extremely important to be right at 18 inches for this) piece of floral wire in half, and Put on center of folded tissue; twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes.

3. Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.

4. Attach ribbon to wire for haning

5. I just used a sewing pin to hang in the ceiling, did not leave a hole

Napkin Rings
With just a few changes, these follow the same steps as the hanging pom-poms.

1. Stack four sheets (I did 6) of tissue. Cut a 10-by-5-inch rectangle, going through all layers. Make 3/8-inch-wide accordion folds.

2. Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire in half, slip over center of tissue, and twist to secure. Trim ends of tissue.

3. Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.

4. Bend wire into a loop to fit around napkin, and twist end around loop to secure. I cut the left over wire because I did not use them as napkin holders just placed them on the plate.

Pupils set to benefit as millions are spent on school music hubs ...

Every child in the Westcountry will have the chance to sing and learn an instrument as part of a multi-million-pound Arts Council plan to set up seven ?hubs? to improve the quality of music teaching in the region?s schools.

Music hubs in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset will mark a ?significant shift? in the way music is taught as schools link with orchestras, ensembles and choirs in the broader community as part of the ?7.5 million programme.

Phil Gibby, Arts Council England?s director for the South West, said: ?We know that experiences of learning music help children to improve across the whole curriculum, as well as providing an important part of young people?s cultural education.

?Music education provides opportunities to develop skills in a wide range of genres with something for all tastes and skills. The music education hubs will provide opportunities for young people to take part in musical experiences that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.?

Cornwall Council, which has been given a ?1.5 million share of the funding pot, said children would ?directly benefit? from the money over the next three years.

Sharon Longden, head of Cornwall Learning, said: ?We are committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to sing and learn a musical instrument, and perform as part of an ensemble or choir.

?This funding will also enable us to give young people the opportunity to develop their musical talents through working with our regional and national partners such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Concert Band.?

Also winning a share of the cash are Plymouth Youth Music Service, Somerset County Council, Bath and North East Somerset Council, North Somerset Music Service, Torbay Music Service and Devon Music Service, which gets the largest share at almost ?2 million.

It was singled out for particular praise by the Arts Council for working with 53 other groups from the arts and education sectors to offer high-quality music provision across the whole of the county covering a wide range of genres, including folk, world music, rock and classical.

Culture Minister Ed Vaizey said: ?These hubs will mean young people around the country can access high-quality music teaching, itself an important and fulfilling part of learning.

?Playing an instrument can enrich students? lives and perhaps even lead to a career in teaching or performing.?

Schools Minister Nick Gibb said: ?All children, wherever they live and whatever their circumstances, should have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and to play and sing with others.

?I welcome the Art Council?s announcement of the nationwide network of music hubs. Over the coming years, these hubs will help countless children to discover and develop their musical talent.?

The seven hubs in the Westcountry are part of a network of 122 music hubs nationwide.
